Is Claytastic Pottery food, microwave and dishwasher safe?

I lead a busy life just like you.  Having practical pottery is a must.  All Claytastic pottery is food, microwave and dishwasher safe.

How is Claytastic Pottery made?

Each piece is made out of durable stoneware or porcelain.  I make each pot on a potter’s wheel and then alter and/or texture it depending on the effect and intended use.

How are the pots fired?

Most of my pots are wood-fired in a Japanese-style two chamber noriborigama kiln at Baltimore Clayworks. We use pallet wood that is going to be thrown away. Because of the temperatures achieved in a wood-kiln, plates can warp.  Hence, most of my dinner sets are fired in a gas-fueled kiln.

Where can I read more about you and Claytastic Pottery?

I wrote an article about finding my artistic voice, which can be found to your right. I will also have an article appearing in the Winter 2011 issue of Studio Potter.

Do you take custom orders?

Yes.  If you see a color you like but want it on another form, email me and we can discuss the options.  Because each piece is handmade and I am seeking an organic look and feel to my pottery, no two pieces will be the same.

Custom orders can usually be shipped within 8–12 weeks, depending on time of year and desired firing method.
